George Miller, Jr. (January 7, 1914-January 1, 1969) was a California state senator of the 7th District from 1948 to 1969 and leader of the liberal wing of the California Democratic Party in the early 1950s when the Republican Party dominated state government. The 7th district encompasses the East Bay east of the Berkeley Hills from the western Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta in the north down to the Tri-Valley region in the south. Approximately 70% of the district lies within Contra Costa County and 14% within Alameda County.
